Cleaning bottles. - In apparatus for removing metal foil and labels from bottles, a series of spring steel wires a, of various lengths, flattened and bent inwards towards the bottle neck, are fitted into a slotted cone b and held in position by a ferrule f and a flange screw g binding into the ferrule and carrying a rotating spindle h. The cone b has a hollow central guide in which the brush stem is held by a s t screw. The wires are further held midway by a disk k supported by pillars j fitted into the cone b. In place of the plain wires formed with angles a<1>, wires having bent serrated ends, or straight wires with recesses in which bunches of stiff copper wires are tied, may be used. Specification No. 2656, A.D. 1896, is referred to.
