Weldless ovallink chains.-The chain link is formed from a bar A of suitable section and length, each end B of which is enlarged, and grooved or screw-threaded, as shown in Figs. 1 and 4 respectively. After the bar has been bent up so that the two ends meet, the link is completed by means of the sleeve F which is fashioned on the inside to correspond with the enlarged ends of the bar. In the case of the grooved ends, the sleeve is shrunk tightly over the joint by a hammer, but in the case of the screwed ends as shown in Fig. 6, the sleeve is screwed on so as to be flush with the enlarged ends.
