Abstract
21,326. Hurst, D., and Brierley, Ltd., W. Oct. 20. Couplings, disconnectible.-Consists in improvements in the disconnectible couplings described in Specification No. 27,575, A.D. 1902. The ends of the hose to be connected are clamped against the parts a, i by means of the screw union a<5>, i<3> The part a carries hollow brackets a<1>, a<2> in which are locking-pieces c, c<1>, carried by pins b, b<1> engaging in slots, and having projections c<4> which engage with a groove i<4> in the part i when the two parts are forced together against the packing-ring j. These locking-pieces turn against parts a<6> of the bracket a', a<2> and are moved out of engagement with the groove i<4> by means of the projections c<3>. The brackets a<1>, a' carry handles g, g<1> and may carry wheels when required, eg. in the case of fire-hose.
