20,793. Ripert, A. L. H., and Schmitt, P. Oct. 13. Spring wheels.-Relates to wheels of the type in which a flexible rim is suspended by a resilient device secured to the fixed rim. The form shown in Fig. 2 comprises a cover of leather, rubbered fabric, asbestos cloth, &c. secured to the rim b, an india-rubber or like band e, and the suspended resilient band or bands a, preferably of steel. A series of yokes f are secured inside the cover for laterally guiding the band or bands a, by means of rivets g, the heads of which may project to prevent slipping &c. A band h of felt, leather, rubber, or other elastic material is fitted in the rim b to receive the impact of the band a when necessary. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the resilient band j supports the yokes k, which bear through rubber buffers m under the inturned lips of the rim i. The tread consists of a leather band l riveted to the yokes k.
