Abstract
19,891. Bradley, S. R. April 29, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Moulding pulp pipes.-A roller M delivers a film of pulp from the vat N to a perforated hollow roller O, with its interior continually exhausted. On this roller, the pulp is dried and from it is delivered to the rolls A mounted in forks b on revoluble frames B, on which rolls the pipes are formed. The frames B carry the rolls from the position A in which the pipes are formed, through positions A<1>, A<2> to the discharging position A3, guides F preventing the rolls from falling from the forks. A lever L, being depressed to the position shown, allows the roll to be run out on tracks T, T', on which it is held by an abutment R and a hook t on the end of the track T<1>. The roll is disengaged from this hook and pushed, as shown in Fig. 1, till it rests on a support S with its trunnion in the abutment R. The pipe can then be removed and the roll returned. The bearings c of the shaft C carrying the frames B are adjustable by worm gearing u, w, and the height of the tracks can be adjusted so that various sizes of forming rolls can be introduced into the forks.
