Boot-polishing preparations.-A paste for brown boots, harness, &c. is made by mixing together a solution of gum in water, a solution of wax boiled in linseed oil, turpentine, or the like, and yellow ochre, which last may be mixed with orange chrome. The gum may be gum mastic, and the wax may be ceresin or bees-wax, or stearin.
