Abstract
17,482. Schneeloch, A. Aug. 29. Typewriters.-Relates to paper-fingers for holding the paper against the platen and to a device for supporting cards, envelopes, and the like. To the main frame 1 is secured a bracket 175, carrying a radiallygrooved segment 188, to which are adjustably secured bangers 190 sup porting type-bars 3. Brackets 177, pivoted on a bar 169, carry a scalebar x, to which is attached a rod 176 on which slide paper-fingers 172. The fingers may be curved to correspond with the platen 186, and have extensions 173 adapted to engage with pins 174 to prevent the fingers from passing under the printing-point. Springs 178 hold the fingers and scale-bar against the platen. The device for supporting cards, envelopes, &c. consists of a frame 179, pivoted by means of studs 183 to the platen-carrier, and carrying sliding blocks 180, the lower ends of which are bevelled to fit against the platen. Springs 184 hold the device in or out of operative position. When the device is in the latter position, extensions 280 engage with stops 185.
