14,290. McGuire, J. July 11, Clip &c. sleeve joints.- Consists of a joint for connecting flexible tubes together or to taps, nozzles, cycle air-pumps, &c. In connecting two pieces of hose, they are clamped, by means of tapered thimbles c, on an internal ferrule a<3>, screwed at the middle and having tapered corrugated ends a. For connecting hose to a nozzle or supply pipe, the end of the pipe is formed with a screwed part and tapered and corrugated part similar to the internal ferrule, or a similar ferrule may be clamped by a nut to the supply pipe.
