Abstract

10,850. Diskant, L., and Klein, J. May 24. Window blinds. - Venetian blinds are so constructed that all or some of the intervals between the laths may be closed. The laths 1 are hinged together to plates 2 and screws 12, which pass through slots 13 in the plates, and are fixed in the laths or in plates 6 attached to them. The blind is raised and lowered by the usual cords 3 passing through eyes 4 on the ends of the laths and over rollers 5, which are not in the plane of the blind. Cords 7 are provided to bring the laths together, and these pass through holes in the laths or in the sockets 6, and thence over rollers 8 in the plane of the blind, their ends 14 being secured at the underside of the blind. Clips 9 attached to cords 11 may be engaged at suitable points on the cords 7, and prevent the laths below from being drawn together. A number of sockets 6 and cords 7 may be arranged along the laths or in recesses therein.
