Abstract

9248. Hart, D. W. May 2. Chemicals, storing, conveying, and applying; developing ; fixing ; intensifying reducing intensity.- In developing plates and films, pads of porous material are saturated with the developer and applied to the surface of the plate or film. In this way, each portion of the surface being subjected only to the action of the developer in immediate contact, over-development of the more exposed parts is prevented. A paper made of pure cellulose material, without chemical treatment and coated with gelatin, is used, or gelatin sheets alone or backed with porous or non-porous supports. The same method can be employed in fixing, intensifying, or reducing.
