Abstract

7513. Sengbusch, G. J. April 8. India-rubber, gutta-percha, and like valves ; check valves; seats.-Relates to an inkstand with a central fountain chamber and a plunger, a device being also provided by which the ink cannot overflow from the dip recess. The opening in the ring 9 is closed by a superincumbent hard-rubber disk 13 which acts as a check valve. The hollow air-tight float or plunger 14 is guided centrally by ribs 20, and in its normal position rests with its upper end against the lower edge of the dip-recess. Slots 21 are formed on the interior, and holes or notches 22 in the upper edge of the chamber 2. On depression of the float 14 by the pen, the ink is admitted through the slots 21, and when the pen is removed the float rises again, while the ink returns to the reservoir through the holes 22.
