Motors, alternating-current.-In order to equalize the potential between the brushes of like polarity in multipolar alternating - current motors, the brushes are connected together by an inductive winding such as a transformer or choke coil winding. As shown the brushes 4,5 and 6,7 are connected through the windings 8, 9 respectively, the mid points 10, 11 of which serve as the armature terminal leads. The field windings may be connected in series with the armature as shown.
