The drawing of the bolt B by the outside handle operates an indicator and closes the coin slot. This is done by a plate H with an extension R for closing the slot r. The plate H is raised by a lever J pivoted at j and provided with a slot for the pin h on the plate H. The lever J is operated by the pressure of the coin against a projection m<1> on a piece M pivoted at m. The piece M operates the piece K, K<1> pivoted at k, and this in turn operates the lever J by means of the horns j<2>, j<3>. The piece M may be dispensed with, the projection m<1> being fixed to the arm K. In case the lever J should only be slightly raised by the person entering the closet, a spring arm P acting on the camsurface completes the raising, and the top of the arm K rests on the flat end j<4> of the arm j<3> to prevent the parts dropping back accidentally. The door is opened on the inside by a handle connected to the follower N, which bears against a projection a<2> on the latch A. The follower N has a horn n which acts on the arm K<1> so as to lower the lever J and with it the plate H. The coin slot is now open, and the word vacant' is exhibited. The horn n may be operated by a key inserted from outside the door by the attendant.
