5618. Crone, J., Taylor, D. C., and Williams, F. March 17. Drawings to Specification. Manures are obtained from waste animal substances such as shoddy and hide and leather scraps by a process similar to that described in Specification No. 6101, A.D. 1904. The substances are moistened and then fed into a rotary furnace, where they are sprayed with sulphuric acid. The acid is mixed with the animal matters by rotation, and, becoming concentrated by heat, reacts with them to form a solid, which may be ground before use.
