Abstract
3518. Bardet, J., and Bon, L., [trading as Soc. J. Bardet & Cie.]. Feb. 20, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Seals and sealing.-A newspaper scaling device consists of a tongue c, Figs. 1 and 2, formed in any convenient part of the folded paper, and a rivet e or any other means to secure the leaves forming the tongue together, so that the paper cannot be opened without the tongue or seal being first destroyed or damaged. A double-headed rivet, or one bent over as at l, Fig. 13, may be used to hold the leaves of the tongue together, or they may be strongly compressed as in Fig. 16, so as to form a thin disk o of cardboard. The device may be used at one corner, Fig. 6, and in this case the perforations h may be omitted. The sheets may be secured by pasting &c. instead of by rivets if desired.
