Abstract

1222. Bates, P. A. C. Jan. 21. Hooks and eyes.-A fastening for articles of dress consists of two parts, Fig. 9, one or both being made of wire or like springy material. The first part, Figs. 2<a> and 9, is formed somewhat in the manner of an ordinary sewing eye, being secured to the dress at the points a, b, c, d, and furnished with a contracted part e. The second part, of which Fig. 6 is an elevation, is sewn to the dress at the points f, g, h, and is provided with two spring loops leaving an aperture i through which the portion g of the first part is introduced. The first part of the fastening may be varied in shape, but the type approximating to a double wedge as shown is preferred.
