Abstract
29,352. Freeman, C. E., and Sandycroft Foundry Co. Dec. 31. Locking nuts.-A cap or nut C is adapted to engage the back of the nut B, so as to prevent it from unscrewing, the cap being locked to a square &c. extension D of the bolt A. The cap may be locked to the square extension D, which may be tapered, by a cottar E, as shown in Fig. 1, or the extension D may be split and splayed out to engage the cap C, as shown in Fig. 3, or a ring G, Fig. 5, provided with a tapering extension H, preferably split, may be employed, the part H being driven in between the aperture in the cap C and the cylindrical, square, or hexagonal extension D, which tapers slightly, as shown. Other means for locking the cap to the extension may be employed.
