Telephone systems.-In that class of telephonic system in which a number of substations are connected in parallel with the line-wires and in which the central station cannot call, but can be called by, the substations, the latter are provided with switching-arrangements 3, 3<a>. 3<b>, whereby the substation apparatus is entirely disconnected from line when not in use, thus improving the insulation of the line-wires.
