Abstract

22,087. Abegg, A. Oct. 14. Loom shuttles.-Relates, chiefly, to the type of shuttle described in Specification No. 4333, A.D. 1904. The detached thread-guide pin a, Fig. 1, which may be straight or cranked as shown in Fig. 4, is slightly inclined towards the thread passage b, instead of being at right-angles thereto as heretofore, so that, when the thread is coiled several times around the pin to give additional tension, the coils remain separate and breakage of the thread is prevented. A disc c of felt &c. is employed to steady the thread, and a small hook or spiral eye e, preferably elongated, is employed, alone or in conjunction with a bristle, to prevent the thread from flying out of the passage b<1> and also to free it from snarls. To prevent the eye from working loose, its lower end is let into the shuttle.
