Ignition Installations For Internal Combustion Engines
(AREA)
Abstract
21,622. Kennedy, R. Oct. 8. Gas and like engines, igniting in. An alternating current of low potential is used in connection with an induction coil and a trembler, the rate of vibration of which is greater than the rate of alternation of the current. Fig. 1 shows digrammatically a generator A, trembler G, condenser F, and brush switch for directing the current to each of the four induction coils P in succession. The secondary circuits communicate with the sparking plugs V. In a modification, the condenser is placed between the conductor W<1> and the trembler G. The Provisional Specification states that a trembler make- and-break may be projected into the combustion chamber and be actuated by the primary current.
