Clip suspenders; displaying.-Consists of a stand for holding collars and like articles in shop windows in the position which they would occupy in wear, having an extending base to enable it to rest on the rods in shop windows at various distances apart. A strip of metal A, Fig. 1, is bent up at each end B, C. A screw E passes through the end C and presses against the collar or against a plate G, which is hinged to the lugs H. The front of the collar is held by the stud D through its buttonholes, and the back by the stud F, Fig. 1, or the loop T, Fig. 4. The screw will make the collar take any required set or slope. The extending base K consists of a strip of metal, fastened to the strip A by the bands J, and capable of sliding on it to make the stand wide enough to rest on the horizontal rods of shop windows set at any distance apart. The end of the extending base is curved as at L, Fig. 1, or as shown in Fig. 8. In the latter case, the end may be furnished with a screw R to grip the rod firmly. Or the end may be shaped as shown in Fig. 7 for attaching to a shelf or counter ; or it may be turned down as shown at N, Fig. 5, to fit into a socket M ; or, finally, it may be bent round as in Fig. 6 and provided with a screw 0. The sliding base may be omitted. Either the stand or the sliding base may have lateral supports.
