Abstract
12,353. Velin, C. May 31. Loom stop - motions. - Relates to warp stopmotions. The blades b, Figs. 1 and 2, are furnished with inclined slots b<2>, so that the warps a may readily be threaded into the holes b<1>. The blades are guided by side rods c, c' and a central rod c<2> passing through the slots b<3>. Plates d, d', formed with saw teeth on their interior edges, maintain the blades in their correct position and prevent them from turning. When a warp breaks, the corresponding blade drops into the pith of a toothed bar h on arms g carried by arms e loose on the shaft f, which is rocked by an eccentric i and rod k bolted to an arm l on a sleeve fixed to the shaft f. By means of fingers n, fast on sleeves on the shaft f, and springs m, the arms e are normally reciprocated, and, by adjustable lever mechanism o, p, g. r, &c , the finger s on the weft-fork hammer t, oscillated by cam and lever mechanism t<2> &c., is raised above a pivoted lever u, Fig. 3. The arm e being stopped, however, from oscillating by the fallen blade, the rod r and finger s are not raised, and the latter catches and moves the lever u about its pivot. This lever, by lever mechanism v, y, &c., then operates the rod x for moving the driving-belt or disengaging the driving-gear.
