Abstract

9907. Fischer, A. April 30. Phonographs. - A stylus bar d, carrying at its middle point the stylus e, is attached at both ends to the diaphragm b of the sound reproducing or recording instrument. In Fig. 1, the stylus bar d is shown attached to two " domes " c which are placed at points trisecting a diameter of the diaphragm. These "domes" may be circular, elliptical, spider-shaped, &c. Preferably two sound-collecting holes are employed, actuated under the division points and leading into the sound exit tube f which should be parallel to the stylus bar d. Two such sound-boxes, each with a stylus bar, may be employed, the middle points of the two stylus bars being connected by another bar which carries at its middle point the stylus. These two sound-boxes have a common sound exit tube parallel to the three stylus bars.
