Signals, bell, electric, reply, and indicator or visible; indicating ringing of bells to operators.- A signalling system for houses, hotels, ships, &c. comprises an annunciator circuit and a lamp circuit adapted to be closed by a push in the former circuit, the lamp circuit remaining closed until broken by separate means when the call is answered. On depressing the calling push 1, the circuit 2, comprising electromagnets 4, 5, relay 15, and battery 3, is closed, thus actuating the visible indicator 6, closing the relay bell circuit 7, and clcsing the lamp circuit 9 by the contact-maker 8. Lamps 10 in the latter circuit may be placed in the calling-room, the head porter's room, &c., and the porter may signal that the call has bean noted by momentarily depressing the key 17, thus producing a flickering in the lamp in the calling- room. When the call is attended to, the lamp circuit is broken by closing the shunt circuit through the electromagnet 13 by the push 14, thus returning the contact-maker 8 to its original position. The Provisional Specification describes mechanical means to replace the contact-maker 8.
