Smoke-consuming.-A mixture of steam and hut air is supplied to the space above the fuel of a steam-generator or other furnace through nozzles 4 on a pipe 3 connected to air-supply pipes 5. The supply of air is induced by jets of steam from nozzles 2 on a removable pipe 1 held centrally in the air pipe 3 by four-armed brackets. One end of the pipe 3, which may be formed in sections, has a removable cover to facilitate inspection and the removal of the steam nozzles for repairs.
