8789. Nickel, W. April 16. Mattresses; bedsteads.-The frame of a reversible spring bed is constructed of bars a which are united by laths b. Girths c are stretched across this frame and carry springs d above and below. These springs carry mattresses e which are attached to their other extremities. The frame is supported by and can turn on pivots f carried in forks g attached to the end frames of the bedstead, a suitable locking-device being used to keep the mattress fixed.
