Abstract

28,754. Hughes, G., [Blumer & Co.]. Dec. 31. Loom stop-motions. - When a warp thread breaks, one of a series of plates P<1>, P<11>, which are supported by the warp threads and guided by bars d, d' and braces e, e<1>, e<11>, falls, and stops the vibration of a pivoted batten A. The batten A is normally vibrated by a cam C acting on a bent rod B fixed to the batten, and by a spring D, and is connected by adjustable linkwork to the weft fork, so as to move in unison with it. When the batten A is stopped, the weft fork is held down, and caught by the weft hammer, so that the loom is stopped in the usual manner.
