Incandescent gas burners.- Supports for incandescent mantles are constructed with one or more discs 3 which may be attached permanently to the rod, or may be removable, as shown in Figs. 4 and 5. In the latter case, the disc has slots 7 which enable it to be slipped over projections 6 on the rod, while on turning the disc to one side it will be supported. The first disc is immediately below the fork 4, and in the event'of the supporting-thread of the mantle breaking, keeps the mantle from falling.
