Railways for recreation. - Relates to apparatus of this kind in which a continuous moving platform, formed by a series of plates on carriers A<1>, A<2> connected together, is propelled and supported by a series of wheels such as w, w<1>, &c., there being two or more parallel platforms supported on wheels of different size so as to run at different speeds, and consists of improved means for coupling and guiding the carriers. Fig. 3 shows a plan of three connected carriers with their top-plates removed, and the supporting-beams &c. exposed, and Fig. 2 a cross-section of two of the endless platforms. A rigid central link d on one carrier is connected by an eye d' to a pin e on the next, and each carrier has a central downward projection n, which may form a continuation of the pin e, and which carries a roller f adapted to engage a central guide-rail g supported independently of the supports of the shafts k carrying the wheels w &c. The abutting ends of the carriers are curved to circles having the pin e which connects them as centre. Various modifications, such, for instance, as that shown in Fig. 6, may be made in the projections n and guide-rail g, and the wheels w &c. may roll on a suitable railway, instead of being carried by shafts mounted in fixed bearings.
