Propelling by water j e t s. - In order that an axialflow driven turbine may be efficiently used as a propeller, the guide-vanes are shaped so that the direction of flow of the fluid varies with the distance from the axis of rotation. The ring of guide-vanes G, Fig. 3, is represented on inner, medium, and outer planes of section A, B, C in Fig. 2, where the guide-vanes f are inclined at their discharge ends d<1> to correspond to the angles a<1> of the turbine blades at the same positions.
