Steam-generator furnaces.-Boilers of the Babcock and Wilcox type, having an enlarged combustion space 1 at the rear through the inclination of the water-tubes 2, are provided with an enlarged firegrate. The grate extends to the rear of the boiler, and is partially enclosed by the deflecting- crown 7. Fuel is supplied through doors 5 at each end of the boiler. A central bridge 6 and baffles 8, 9 may be provided. The water-tubes are increased in correspondence with the enlarged grate.
