Abstract

24,155. Ferris, W. I. Jan. 26, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Pens, reservoir. Relates to an improved feedpiece, the object of which is to conceal the concave side of the nib and to prevent ink from flowing on to the holder. The feed-piece is preferably cylindrical, having ink and air channels cut in the back end A, and is cut away from C to the end B, as shown in the Figures leaving a sharp edge D. Enough of the back-piece A is left to enable it to fit tightly into the barrel of the pen R, the length B C being from an inch to an inch and a quarter for ordinary pens. The cut-away portion may have any form so long as the sharp edges, contiguous or nearly so to the edges of the nib, are retained.
