Abstract
19,836. Page, S. E., [Weber Railway Joint Manufacturing Co.]. Sept. 15. Electric railways. -Relates to insulated rail joints for the rail sections of electric railways. The rail ends A<1>, A<2> rest upon an angle-shaped chair B' lined with insulating-material F<1>, and they are clamped by bolts E between the vertical side B<2> of the chair and a longitudinal bar D, insulating-blocks C', C<2> being interposed between the rail web and the chair and bar respectively. Insulating-washers E', E<2> and collars P are also fitted on the bolts, as shown, and the holes through the blocks C<1>, C<2> and the rail web are made sufficiently large to prevent contact with the bolts. An insulating-strip K may be inserted between the rail ends.
