Abstract

19,381. Major, C. Sept. 8. Roofing-tiles.-Ribs 1, 2, formed on the upper surface of the upper portions of the tiles, engage with similar corresponding ribs under the lower portions of the tiles above, and projections at the lower ends of the tiles enter recesses 11 in the side edges of the lower tiles. The sides of the tiles are formed with interlocking ribs and recesses 8, 9, and the lower ends of the ribs 1 are turned inwards, as shown at 1# to deflect water from the grooves 3 to the plain portions of the tiles away from the joints. Fig. 7 shows a tile divisible along a groove in a central rib into half tiles for the edges of the roof. Half tiles may be moulded separately with a rib at, or near, the edge.
