Abstract
11,932. Deeks, H. C. J., Deeks, J., and Goodbody, M. May 25. Painting.-An atomizer for applying colouring. materials or for other purposes is fitted with an auxiliary spraying-device and means for controlling the amount or density of the spray delivered. The container a is provided with a cap b, having an extension d suitably attached by pipe e to the source of supply of the fluid under pressure. The passage from the pipe e through the port g to the vent h is controlled by a spring-pressed valve i. A side port n from the vent h connects with the curved tube o, the orifice t of which is just above the end s of the tube r. The material drawn through tube p is first sprayed within the container, and a part of the spray is drawn out through the tube r and subdivided by the auxiliary blast at i. The amount of spray delivered to the tube r is controlled by an adjustable fan v, which may be turned to cut off a portion of the stream. In a modification, the same purpose is effected by providing the tube r with an extensible sleeve
