Abstract

10,200. Hartel, A. E. May 5. Regenerative incandescent gas lamps.-Air issuing under pressure from the nozzle 23 of the airsupply pipe 22 forces gas supplied by the pipe 4 into the mixing and regenerative chamber 8, which is heated by the escaping products of combustion. The heated mixture then traverses the tube 9 and the adjustable nozzles 28 to the burners 11. Valves 18, 26 and a pressure regulator 27 of known construction are provided in the gas and air pipes 4, 22, a pilot jet 20, 21 is arranged above the burners 11, and the globe 15 is so supported from below by the holder 13 that an air space is left between its upper edge and the lower end of the casing 1, the draught and the heating of the regenerator being improved by the sleeve 16. The shape of the regenerator may be varied.
