Abstract

9323. Mills, B. J. B., [Meyer, C.]. April 24. Ingress and egress of passengers, controlling.- A collapsable gate, specially intended for elevated and like cars, but applicable for other purposes, consists of double end-pieces c supporting lazy-tong levers d by means of pivots and slides d<4>, the latter comprising two channel pieces, between which the free ends of the levers d are pivoted. A fixed guard b<4> is also secured to the support b. The gate is opened and closed by means of a link e<4> connected to a spur-wheel e<3> operated by a handwheel g through bevel and spur gearing on a shaft e at right-angles to the gate. The position of the link e<4> is such that the gate cannot be opened or closed except by turning the wheel g.
