Abstract
7595. Neumann, F. E. F. April 1. Cocoa.-In making cocoa paste, the cocoa beans are placed in a heated hopper d, and fed by a roller f between one or more pairs of roughened rotating rollers a arranged one above the other, one or more rollers e at the side of the lowest pair of rollers a removing the paste from these rollers. Steam, hot-water, or other heating-passages d<1> formed in the walls of the hopper, and also transversely or longitudinally across the same, are connected by ribs or plates d<2> to ensure a better distribution of the heat. The pulverized and melted material is removed from the first pair of rollers a by scrapers c, and falls upon the next pair of rollers, the paste being finally removed from the lateral roller e by a scraper c. Heating- passages b are provided for heating the rollers, if desired. Or the beans may be supplied to the hopper d in a heated state. The Provisional Specification states that the lateral rollers may be dispensed with.
