Abstract

7511. Hubbard, R. W. March 31. Hooks.-A snap-hook is formed of a single piece of wire bent as shown. The shank, which is composed of two parallel wires, is enclosed by a shell B, and at the ends of the shank the wire is bent to form loops d, the cross-bar of the loop d having preferably a sleeve g to receive a belt &c. The hook proper b has also a loop c. A tongue C, secured at one end between the shank and the shell B, has a curve k, which passes through the loop c, and a depending part l, which enters the loop f. The tongue yields, to permit the insertion of a ring into the hook, and then snaps back, the depending part l holding the ring in position.
