3632. Bigot, A. Feb. 16. Pottery.-In making ceramic ware, the glaze or enamel is added, before firing, by placing it on the bottom of the mould, and upon the glaze is applied the ceramic, stoneware, or porcelain paste, terracotta, or clay, in the condition of a dry or moist powder. The whole is then subjected to pressure, and fired. The paste may be placed on the bottom of the mould, and the glaze or enamel on the top. By this method, white, coloured, decorated, or flashed ware with designs in intaglio or relief, may be prepared.
