Abstract

3600. Alonso, J. M. G. Feb. 16. Firemen's dress.-Relates chiefly to a device for supplying fresh air to the helmet by means of suction induced by the stream of water in the fireextinguishing nozzle. The helmet a is connected airtight to a leather jacket a', which is pressed close to the body by an elastic waistband band elastic waistbands b<1>. Air enters the helmet by a pipe c, and is drawn out through the pipe e by induction of the stream of water in the nozzle g. The position of the end of the tube e in the nozzle g is shown in the section, Fig. 5. The pipe c terminates in a trumpet mouth inside the helmet, and is used as a speaking-tube.
