813. Csßnyi, H., and Bßrczay, G. von. Jan. 13. Primary batteries.-In a zinc-carbon battery, the carbon is immersed in nitric acid and the zinc in alcohol to which mercury pernitrate and potassium cyanide have been added. The two liquids are separated from each other by a very porous fireclay partition.
