Abstract
26,911. Field, R., and Hanson, A. Dec. 6. Accordions, concertinas, and like instruments.- Reed instruments are provided with bass reeds in duplicate, to give the same notes or tones in either action of the bellows and to give the tonic, dominant, sub-dominant, super-tonic seventh, and two or more relative minor bass notes. Reeds a, b give the tonic, reeds c, d the dominant, reeds e, f the sub-dominant, reeds g, h the super-tonic seventh, and the reeds i, j two relative minor notes. The reeds are secured to reed plates k, l on a soundboard located within the cavity m outside of the bellows, the finger keys and valves operating vertically. The finger keys for the treble part are arranged in two parallel rows, the two keys opposite comprising an octave, and being capable of simultaneous depression by one finger.
