Abstract
26,108. Davies, C. H. Nov. 27. Incandescent lamps, holders for, with switches. An ordinary casing contains a porcelain or other insulating-cup b, and a fibre or other insulating- cover y. A lever h, l projects through a slot in the casing and cup b, and is carried by a vertical pivot i on a base-plate, secured on the bottom of the cup. The lever consists of a knob and a metal plate h, on which a two-armed piece of non-conducting material l is secured by two screws. One arm carries a bent metal clip p, holding a laminated connecting piece n, so that this can be moved between two contacts d, w, fixed in the insulating cup b. A plate u, carried on a vertical pivot t on the base-plate, is acted on by a wire spring coiled on this pivot, and bears against the second conducting arm to hold the lever in either extreme position. The lamp contacts are connected to the switch contact wand a terminal f, and the contact d is attached to a similar terminal. These terminals are made of bent metal, and secured in inclined positions on a projection in the cup b ; they are provided with screws to hold the supply wires.
