Abstract
19,659. Carr, C. Sept. 8. Stoppers; refilling, preventing. - In the form shown in Fig. 1, the bottle neck A containing the cork D is grooved at B, and has a rectangular extension C with a ledge for the glass &c. lid E, formed similarly to those described in Specifications No. 19,164, A.D. 1900, and No. 22,471, A.D. 1901. This lid is kept in place by the ledge and by the upwardly extending and inclined edges K of the part C, between which the lid is sprung. A lip may be provided to hold the lid more securely. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the lid E is in halves, which abut together at L. Each half is slipped under a ledge G, and is held by one or more spring bolts F, which are carried by the lid and engage in ledges M. A bowed metal plate N may be sprung under the ledges G to cover the lid E, Fig. 5.
