Label holders.-A padlock or other lock, such as described in Specification No. 902, A.D. 1902, is stamped or impressed with words indicating that the lock is not to be given up or used until a plate with a number &c., corresponding to a number &c. on the lock, is presented by the applicant, thereby ensuring that bags, cycles, &c. secured by the lock shall not be wrongly delivered. A spring- controlled &c. holder for an address &c. label is arranged in connection with the look. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the holder b consists of a bar b<1> and side pieces, the bar b<1> being hinged to lugs on the case a of the lock. The shackle a' of the lock has a projection a<2>, which engages a recess b<3> in the holder to secure it in the closed position. Spikes b<4> on the holder engage recesses in the lock casing, or the spikes may be arranged on the casing, and the recesses formed in the holder. In a modification, a hook on the shackle engages a locking-bar formed on the holder. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 7 and 9, the holder b consists of a frame hinged to a collar c on the lock casing. A catch d<1>, carried by a spring plate d, projects through a slot in the casing and engages the nose e' of a pin e on the holder so as to secure the holder in the closed position.
