Abstract

19,095. Beken, F. Aug. 30. Pulley-blocks ; winding-drums.-Relates to pulleyblocks of the kind in which the rope which passes round the pulley is attached by its ends to a drum or drums, on which it is wound and unwound to raise and lower the pulley. The rotation of the drum is automatically stopped before the rope is completely uncoiled, by means of a hook h pivoted to the rope-guiding slide f, and adapted to enter a slot in the bearing k of the worm shaft and engage a shoulder j in the shaft. The edge of the slot takes the pressure of the shoulder and relieves the slide f of strain.
