Spring wheels; disc wheels; dust-excluders and oil-retainers; felloes or rims; hubs; lubricating; packing, elastic and sound-absorbing; tyres, non- elastic.-Relates to springwheels for vehicles especially motor cars and the like. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the hub a is constructed with flanges b secured to discs c, outside which work annular plates g carried by the rim d which may be shod with a tyre e. Pins k project from the plates g to form pivots for levers which are connected by links i to the ends of laminated springs h having central straps l formed with projecting pins m. These pins engage in radial slots o in the plates g and form axles for flanged rollers n which bear on the discs c. Packing t may be interposed betwveen the plates and discs, and the slots are closed by covers r so that the parts can be lubricated by oil placed in the chamber formed between the hub and the rim. When the rim has to be driven from the hub radial rods p, which may be slit pins or spring arms, are attached to some of the pins k, and the rods pass between outer pairs q<1> of slightlyseparated rollers and inner pairs q placed close together, the whole of the rollers being mounted on pins fixed to the discs c. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the straps l are connected to parts y of ball joints of which the other parts x are carried by levers wpivoted between the plates g so that the motion is limited by stops v. The hub is formed with a central enlargement u between which and side discs move the plates g. The driving - connections between the hub and rim may consist of spring arms 1 riveted between washer-plates 2 and adapted either to work between rollers q on the plates g or to be connected by links 1* to the plates g. In a modification, the disc and plates are directly connected by links.
