Stoppers; cork, retaining refilling, preventing.- The neck b, Fig. 1, is enlarged at its upper part d, and is formed with an undercut shoulder f, and an external shoulder h, which may be grooved, to receive the packing - washer j. Beneath the shoulder h is a groove i, the bottom of which is scratched with a diamond &c. After the cork c is inserted in the neck b, a cap k having inwardlyprojecting tongues is placed over the neck and pressed down on the washer j, until the tongues l spring under the shoulder f. The bottle is opened by breaking off the neck extension d at the groove i. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the cork c is provided with projecting tongues o, which spring into the recess n, the contraction q in the neck limiting the insertion of the cork. The cork is covered with a metal disc r, to prevent it from being picked out. The neck is grooved and scratched at s, where it is broken off to open the bottle. The neck may be thickened above the recess n, as shown in dotted lines.
