Abstract

9312. Grundig, M. H. April 22. Stamps, ore and like.-Fig. 3 shows a side view of the apparatus for stamping, for instance, small coal which is to be coked, and Fig. 4 a sectional plan of the friction - plate engaging - mechanism. The stamps a are each raised by a friction-plate c which, by its attached levers, is r a i s e d vertically and moved away from the stamp and returned in a curved path. This is effected by the crank rod b, the links f, and the fork u the outer end of which is connected with a spring i pressing against the casing m. The casing is fixed upon the lever l in such a manner that it may occupy two positions, one in which the friction-plate is pressed against the stamp and the other in which the plate is released. The pressure exerted by the spring may be adjusted by the nut n. The face of the friction-plate and of the stamp are preferably roughened or formed with curved engaging-teeth. When several stamps are used, the weights are equalized by suitably arranging the relative positions of the cranks. To progress the stamps over the material, the travelling axles of the apparatus are turned intermittently by ratchetwheels and pawls driven from the crank shaft h at a double speed ; or suitable cam discs or elbowlevers may be employed.
